In this episode, I begin exploring World 5, Juicy Jungle. This world is one of the cooler worlds in the game, as it is themed around jungles and fruit, and the world has been turned into a giant factory by the Snomads. I begin by entering 5-1 Harvest Hazards, where the fruits of Juicy Jungle are harvested and gathered by the snomads. The level is full of fruit gathering machinery that poses a threat to the kongs. Then, we enter level 5-2 Reckless Ride, which is a minecart stage. It’s really cool; while the fruit are being transported to a factory, we are attacked by a giant killer death robot piloted by a random Tucks! It will do everything in its power, even shooting penguins out of its belly, to take us down. At the end, the auto eject forces the Tucks out, and then he gets eaten by a giant monster. Wonderful!
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a video game developed by Retro Studios, a subsidiary of Nintendo, for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It was released in 2014, and re released for the Switch in 2018. It is a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns, which originally released for the Wii in 2010. Tropical Freeze is a 2D platformer known for its beautiful backgrounds, well thought-out design, partner-based powerups, and phenomenal soundtrack composed by David Wise. It is, in my opinion, one of the best platformers ever made, and it is criminally underrated. That’s why I intend to show it off!
