In this episode, I finish World 5 Juicy Jungle! I begin by taking on the secret level 5-B Jammin’ Jams! The level is filled with giant crusher things. It isn’t super interesting, but it has some really jammin’ tunes! Then, I go through level 5-K Platform Problems. It is a difficult K stage in which you must jump on platforms that are only accessible when they travel along gold rails. There are also platforms that fall as soon as you step on them. However, I enter the level with Dixie Kong, which makes it incredibly easy. Finally, I go to level 5-Boss Punch Bowl. The boss is Bashmaster the Unbreakable, a polar bear who just wants to enjoy a popsicle. We crush his dreams quickly, however, as we plummet into his icy arena. We have to fight him by avoiding his massive hammer, pillars of ice, and shock waves. He goes down fairly easily, and I gain access to the final world in the game!
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a video game developed by Retro Studios, a subsidiary of Nintendo, for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It was released in 2014, and re released for the Switch in 2018. It is a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns, which originally released for the Wii in 2010. Tropical Freeze is a 2D platformer known for its beautiful backgrounds, well thought-out design, partner-based powerups, and phenomenal soundtrack composed by David Wise. It is, in my opinion, one of the best platformers ever made, and it is criminally underrated. That’s why I intend to show it off!
