A Melee Fan's Introduction to Age of Empires II
Man so the other weekend Steam was telling me that the Sims 4 was 88% off so I was like "I haven't played a Sims game in a very long time, sure I'll try it" and then I just got sucked into it. Like, to an unreasonable degree.
It surprised me as well because I really wasn't expecting that to happen either, I normally don't play games like the Sims so to get entirely engulfed by it was not at all what I thought was going to happen.
I think part of it was because it was the first "new" game that I had bought since like... I don't even remember. I think the last time I bought a game was when No More Heroes came out on the Switch, but that was like October last year. Since then I've bought Overcooked 2... and I can't remember what else. Resident Evil 3? That came out a year ago though.
Either way, I don't buy new games very often so I think the novelty of playing something "new" went a long ways for me.
It's my experience with the Sims though that usually makes me stay away from games like Stardew Valley, or something long like the Witcher 3. Not because I don't think I'd enjoy them - quite the opposite in fact, the concern for me is that I'd get so sucked into them that I wouldn't do other things.
Too much of a good thing, you know?
Anyways I'm sure some of you were looking for some sort of additional insights about Age of Empires, or even Melee, but here I am talking about the Sims 4. Though, maybe some of you enjoyed reading this!
