A Plague Tale: Requiem: A Worthy Sequel?
1For fans of the first A Plague Tale: Innocence, we finally received the long-awaited sequel, A Plague Tale: Requiem. So we can already expect a fantastic gaming experience with breathtaking graphics, beautiful scenery, and a deep and compelling story. Focus Entertainment didn’t fail to give its fans yet another fantastic game.
In case you need a quick refresher on the events of the previous game, here is a quick recap of the story. It follows the story of Amicia and Hugo, two homeless orphans, and together they must find a way to survive not only the rat plague that is spreading throughout France but also run away from the Inquisitors. They are on a journey to find a cure for a disease that Hugo has, called Prima Macula. During their journey, we get to see their relationship develop, and it is a fantastic experience filled with tense and heartbreaking moments.
Now in the sequel, we once again follow the story of both these characters, and it takes place six months after the event of the first game. And even though we hoped that these characters would finally be able to live happily, we discover that, sadly, they will have to once again go through awful experiences. A Plague Tale: Requiem is as dark and gloomy as its predecessor, and our protagonists will once again have to make hard decisions in order to live. Overall, the game received positive reviews, with IGN giving it an 8/10, and it has a score of 83 on Metacritic. It has similar reviews to its predecessor, and while it isn’t a perfect score all around, it still has some pretty great reviews.
