The outbreak affected much of the Great Plains and Eastern United States and between May 4th and May 11th saw 335 tornadoes touch down, more than any other week-long span in recorded history;

The most prolific and violent day of the outbreak was May 4 which saw 79 tornadoes touch down, of which 4 reached F4-intensity…
