A sad day today, we lost one of our kittens, the tiniest one of two little brothers.
0A Pair of Male kittens came into the hub, And the smallest one was struggling to eat and drink and was very poorly indeed.
I took him into the vets not far from the hub as they were going to put him on a drip overnight and try and get some much needed fluids into him, I'd already syringe fed him both water and cat milk but he wouldn't eat, sadly he deteriorated overnight and was flaked out in the morning and barely hanging on to life, the decision was made by the Rescue alongside the vets to let the poor little boy go as it was the kindest thing to ease his suffering and thus the vets let him sleep.
Broke my heart, when I found out, I wish I'd done more for him but when they give up and won't fight anymore, there's only so much you can do.
RIP Little guy, you will be missed by all, at least you're at peace now.
I know his brother knows something is wrong, he wasn't the same little kitten today, he must be missing his brother.
We're going to give it a few days then move him into the Kitten room, hopefully he'll make some new friends there and therefore not have the chance to miss his little brother.
I know from owning my two, especially Bella, that an adult cat has the intelligence of a human toddler, so at the age he is, this little kitten will soon bounce back, and thankfully he is eating and drinking well, so we won't need to worry about him at least.
