A short simulation using Adobe After Effects CS5 particle playground. Made using this tutorial www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQiKBM9rDoM

It's only 15s long because there was nothing interesting happening after that and the computing was taking a lot time. Actually my cpu was at just 40% load when rendering so there was something slowing down the process.

In the beginning there was 60x60 grid of particles which had variation in their masses. Also the gravity is fake, it isn't even linear. It's just on or off within a radius around the particles.
