A12-9800 vs A10-7860K Frame Time Analysis - APU R7 Graphics - Rise of the Tomb Raider [BENCHMARK]
A12-9800 vs A10-7860K - AMD APUs w/ R7 Graphics - Rise of the Tomb Raider [BENCHMARK]
After much delay AMD has finally released its new APU platform. Is it worth investing in A12-9800 for integrated graphics enthusiasts or is Bristol Ridge just a filler product before the Ryzen-based Raven Ridge APUs? Can AMD's latest APU flex its muscles in Rise of the Tomb Raider? Utilizing the game's built-in benchmark we review our FM2+ and AM4 mITX builds at 720p, medium settings, FXAA enabled.
The Bristol Ridge-based APU has a comfortable lead over the Kaveri system. Geothermal Valley scene exhibits the usual popping and LoD problems that are common with low-end configurations in this game. The frame time graph suggests that the A12 platform still has issues maintaining smooth frame times, hopefully future BIOS / chipset updates will remedy the problem.
