A string quartet performance of a piece I worked on in 2020 as part of my final year in music school. Mostly based on this feeling of drowning/being lost at sea and the moments of solace, rush, and disparate loneliness you can feel.
I love that I got to see it performed live but I'm not entirely happy with the performance to be honest. It was a series of unfortunate events but nonetheless, it made it to the stage. A piece like this doesn't work well without a conductor because of how specific the notated tempos, time signatures, and directions are. Here's hoping one day I will rerecord it... or maybe just move on and write bigger and better pieces.
