The Adventures of Star Saver is a decent little platformer action game developed by A-Wave and published by Taito. In the original Japanese version, Rubble Saver, you played with the girl in the introduction. For some reason, it's the reverse outside of Japan. You pilot a machine that is your primary offense, which can gain power-ups and become more formidable. Should you get hit, you'll lose your machine (after a girlish scream, which makes controlling the male even more strange) and fight on foot as the human character. Getting hit again in this state "may" kill you (not everything kills you, as some things may stun you). This video goes through the first two levels and uses the grappling hook at the end just to show that you have one (you can get stuck in some platforms and obstacles with it, as well as return from a pit).
