The exact date round has not been announced-the first weekend of September is expected to be weekend-the players do not know whether last year's 10 match format will be repeated for eighth season league or which other rule changes may be. The joint AFLW collective bargaining agreement is still negotiated and the players Association forces 12-month-old play contracts for AFLW players instead of current nine-month agreements. Carlton captain Kerryn Peterson said how early the 12 -month contracts were realized and the better it was. “It will only provide a lot of stability for our players,” he said. Throughout year, scope of insurance for injuries a factor, but Peterson said biggest problem that it will help to address a 12 -month contract is employment hokbabazism. Orum I'm going to an employer, 'I can be fully employed for period year, but only part -time for this part of the year', there are only too many employers with level flexibility in labor force ”. Peterson is a physiotherapist, but he has reduced his hours to focus on football. Im I went through permanent part -time role, I went back everyday hours allow me allow me be flexibility and the AFLW player, and there is a lot of responsibility for being captain. “As AFLW demands really increase every year, it becomes difficult to maintain employment other than Footy.” Peterson was able to take extra work in Carlton that did coaching and business development, but many players did not have this opportunity to “lose”. “Difficulty, from year year, level of commitment devotion, and clocks, things that need to become AFLW as a player, he still crawls orbit that he continues every year. “This is a real challenge to coach personnel and support personnel who continue to try and balancing part -time work outside of Footy club, despite the demands, not only players but also demands.” Port Adelaide Captain Erin Phillips, AFLW before the first round before the settings, he said it is not ideal. “But it's not something we're thinking about.“ We know when the season will start roughly and probably this, what I hear, [Afl] Goodbye in August, September. “And this is the only thing we really focus on right now ... We have 12 weeks to be as good as we can now and prepare to play our first game.” Phillips said that long -term target is the fact that AFLW players are full -time athletes, but aim was to get this year's fixtures and to put a “exciting product”.
