After Elden Ring, I’ll Never Approach Games the Same Way
I thought I knew how to play video games. Elden Ring proved me wrong.
Like many action RPGs, I expected it to reward better gear, higher stats, and brute force. But instead, it demanded something else—patience, observation, and a willingness to adapt. And once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it.
For those unfamiliar, Elden Ring is an open-world action RPG developed by FromSoftware (creators of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro). Known for its challenging boss fights, deep lore, and intricate world design, it forces players to learn through failure and master its combat by truly understanding enemies—not just overpowering them.
After beating Elden Ring, I realized it had rewired the way I play games forever. Now, I find myself noticing patterns, reading animations, and anticipating attacks in ways I never did before.
