Age of Empires is the game that defined the fundamentals of real time strategy and left behind a unique legacy. In this title, we can play on a timeline spanning 3000 years, from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. We can choose between 12 civilisations. Depending on our choice we will have to adapt to certain strategies, for the simple reason that each one has specific bonuses in the game.
The game has an expansion called Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome, that was released on 31st October 1998, with 4 new civilisations, new units, new technologies, etc.
It has been categorised several times as one of the best strategy games of all time, and we shouldn’t go against the experts. You simply have to play this game once to understand why it is held under such high esteem.
Now we can also enjoy all the officially launched content and a modernised playability, new graphics and a multitude of new features thanks to Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.
