8Doors: Arum's Afterlife Adventure - Killing Myrtly and reaching the Death Tavern - No Commentary #2
08doors: Arum’s Afterlife Adventure is an Metoidvania style platform action game based on a story influenced by popular Korean stories.
We will take on the role of Arum, a brave girl who travelled voluntarily to the furthest Kingdom to look for her father’s soul. Our objective is to help her and to guide her through the 8 doors of Purgatory to solve the mysteries hidden inside. For that, we will have to vanquish the ghosts that put themselves in out way and rescue the fugitive souls who need guidance.
We will have to move through 8 different areas of purgatory and overcome the endless obstacles we will face. As for the combat system, we can use combined and fluid attacks whilst we dodge attacks using dash when faced with more than 36 different types of ghosts and 21 bosses with unique attack patterns. We have 7 different types of weapons available to do so.
With regards to the graphics and art, it is something pretty spectacular, formed by unique images using only a 3-colour palette: red, black, and white. The animations are drawn by hand.
