AI Allies can be USEFUL!? (Secret of Mana, SNES) - A Wild Glitch Appears!

In Secret of Mana for the SNES, there's a fairly simple trick that causes your AI allies to charge their weapons WAY past their normal abilities, which allows them to deal massive damage in a single strike! But getting them to actually land a hit with this glitch is... unreliable at best...

BUT IT'S EASY AND COOL so here's what you do:

First, equip an AI ally with a weapon they can charge to at least Level 2. Then, open up their Action Grid and set their power gauge so that they will charge to their Level 2 Attack.

NOTE: There are multiple ways to get your AI to charge a Level 2 attack, but I'm showing off the simplest. For a faster method, speedrunners will set the AI to charge to Level 1, wait for the ally to charge to Level 1, re-open the AI Action Grid and set them to charge to Level 2, and this will instantly charge the AI's weapon to Level 2. It's not necessary but it's usually faster.

Once your AI ally has charged a Level 2 Attack, open up their Action Grid and set them so they charge Level 1 attacks. Once you close the Action Grid, that ally's attack meter should start to glitch out rapidly.

In this glitched state, your ally is charging one attack level every other frame, and can now unleash a very powerful attack! Don't take too long or else the attack will charge all the way back up to Level 1.

But if your AI manages to not be an idiot, they might actually hit something with this very powerful attack. This glitch allows you to potentially one-shot bosses.

It's possible to take control of the AI manually by hitting the Select button to switch to that character, but this will normally release the charge. If you switch to that character while they are taking damage or dodging, then immediately hold the B button, you can sometimes control the character during the charge glitch.
