Around 1 hour 33 minutes to beat. I dont have a true completion time because I got most of my practice on the Switch version through the Yuzu emulator. On that version I had around 2 1/2 hours, plus alot of unlocked permanent upgrades, a different weapon, etc. I beat this version after failing one run (exhausting all continues) and then beat the game on my second full attempt with some of the upgrades I aquired. Though it wasnt many upgrades. Mainly 2 extra hearts of health. The reason for switching over to the Series X version was that the Switch version kept crashing late game on the Yuzu emulator. The game may need more updates on the emulator to run properly. It stuttered badly too. This version runs much smoother overall with much sharper visuals, better sound, higher frame rate, etc.
This game gives you 2 or 3 continues per run, with 1 life per continue and a health meter allowing you to take several hits. You can use stars earned to unlock various permanent upgrades through a Skill Tree which makes your next runs a little easier. Beat this version on my second full run, so not too many upgrades unlocked. The pause screen on the final boss was due to a power spike. I have my consoles hooked up to a battery back up so luckily only the TV shut off and was able to unpause and resume the game. It seems like whenever I play this game something wants to fuck me over late game. First it was the 2 or 3 late game crashes (2 in a row), then a power spike on the Series X version. Tutorial with commentary and review videos coming soon.
Quite a good game once you understand some of the nuances to dodging projectiles and boss patterns. I wil break that all down in this tutorial. Dodging is not real straight forward, so it helps to understand how it works.
