First up, happy 60th anniversary to Doctor Who today!

And now this Amiga game based on the show. The game makes a very strong first impression with a decent stab at recreating the Sylvester McCoy-era opening titles and then an intro scene where the Daleks announce their latest plans for universal domination. And you also get to choose between playing as 3 different Doctors- Patrick Troughton, Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy (and I chose Troughton since he's my favourite Doctor).

After that, things turn not necessarily for the better. A clunky and difficult opening shooter level in the sewers is the first sign something is not entirely right, but it's manageable. But then the game turns into a platformer and gets worse. For starters the level design is horrible (as soon as the level loads you'll see I come under immediate attack which is VERY cheap) and the controls aren't great, as well as being unfairly difficult. And why does the continue screen countdown end almost instantly, it's almost worthless.

Overall then, good presentation can't save this from being a mediocre game. The level designers ought to be exterminated by the Daleks.
