Alfred Tries To Play: Manchester United Championship Soccer (SNES)- Manchester United vs QPR
Although the title might suggest otherwise, you can play as teams other than Manchester United in this SNES football game, but how many SNES owning Liverpool or Manchester City fans would have owned this game?
Actually, the effect of the Manchester United licence really just means the badge appears in the intro and you can play as their actual players. Other player names are made up, but easy to guess who they're meant to be if you know your mid 90s Premier League squads- this game's Arsenal for example has Tony Adamson (Tony Adams) in their side.
It's an OK football game, but the players are the size of ants and it's maybe a little too fast for it's own good. You can also switch to a vertical perspective, which makes it look a bit like Sensible Soccer.
Also, this game was called Lothar Matthaus Super Soccer in Germany, endorsed by the German star who scored 4 goals for his country at the 1990 World Cup.
