Alice: Madness Returns Part 40: Juking the Knights
So, as we continue our way through the level, I happened to stumble upon another chess puzzle that made things a little more interesting/confusing. I had already mentioned this a little in a previous video’s description but the game has knights that act as enemies during the mini game. When we were told about them, I had assumed they were going to move in a very typical pattern like a Knight from chest would move, that being in the shape of a L (Either Two squares left/right, on square up/down or two squares up/down, one square left/right). Instead, they simply move across a simple pathway along three or four squares. What I didn’t realize for a while is that they are stuck on this pathway and will only move forward up until the end of their path meaning, the can’t suddenly turn around a seize my piece unless they were facing that direction. I guess I should’ve realized that the pieces don’t move in a typical manner since our Pawns can move side-to-side but, whatever.
