Edit: I forgot this video had a lengthy piece of me messing around with the cargo cam in the beginning... Feel free to rewind to around 3 minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience :)

Turned out there are special 'cargo cam' Vref views available for both the Hip and the Huey. The one for the Huey is not quite as useful as this one without a head tracker, whereas the Hip is still more than a handful (at least with the SAS turned off). Looks like I will have to bust out my good ol' LED clip after all...

Speaking from the experience I've had so far, vertical reference flying in a sim should be bloody hard to perform.
