3Alpha (γ’γ«γγ‘, Arufa) is an adventure game developed and published by Square and was released for the NEC PC-88, and was ported to the NEC PC-98, Fujitsu FM-7, and Sharp X1. The game was released only in Japan on July 8, 1986.
Alpha is set in the future, after Earth's natural resources have been completely drained. Humanity embarks on a centuries-long trip to the titular planet on the space ship Daedalus. Due to the absence of technology for suspended animation, only the distant descendants of the original passengers and crew are alive by the time the game takes place.
The main character, Chris, starts the game with amnesia and becomes entangled in a revolution aimed at overthrowing the dictatorial Daedalus computer system. As Chris interacts with the revolutionary group, she uncovers the true nature of Alpha, Daedalus, and herself.
The game's soundtrack was composed by Nobuo Uematsu.
