the 5900X gains 12 percent in performance in the pure CPU benchmarks or 16 percent if we don't include AIDA64. Partly thanks to the two extra cores, Intel is beaten by a much larger margin. The scores are 33 and 23 percent higher, respectively. The 5900X makes the most progress over its predecessor in tests leaning on high clock speeds and IPC, such as Cinebench 20 ST, FLAC, x265 and Chrome. Compared to the 10900K, the biggest blows are dealt in multithreaded tests.
In the 1080p games, the Ryzen 9 5900X wins by an average of 15 percent of its predecessor. The biggest gain comes from F1 2020, which generates 33 percent more frames per second than on the 3900XT. The 5900X is also 7 percent faster than the Core i9 10900K, the fastest gaming processor to date. We do not measure differences between all processors at 4k resolution.
