15The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is officially here, but availability and pricing vary globally. In Malaysia, it's scarce and comes at a premium, often bundled with high-end motherboards. Compared to the 7800X3D, both CPUs deliver strong gaming performance, but price hikes make them less accessible.
Benchmarks show the 9800X3D performing well in most games, though results can vary based on GPU pairing. Using an RTX 4080 Super may have bottlenecked its potential, with a 4090 expected to unlock better performance. However, the value of X3D CPUs depends on your setup—if you play at higher resolutions or have a mid-tier GPU, the benefits diminish.
For pure FPS gains, the 9800X3D is excellent, but the 7800X3D often offers better value. Budget-conscious gamers may find non-X3D models like the Ryzen 5 7600 or Ryzen 7 7700 a smarter choice, allowing savings for better RAM or a GPU upgrade.
Before buying, consider your needs—target frame rates, resolution, and GPU pairing matter. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is a great choice, but only if it aligns with your gaming priorities.
