Analytical Study of Peristaltic Flow in a Doubly Connected Region with Heat Transfer Effects
Layman's Abstract:This study looks at how the flow of fluid and heat transfer are affected when two cylindrical tubes are placed concentrically but slightly offset (eccentric). The inner tube is hotter than the outer one, and the outer tube moves in a wave-like motion, while the inner tube rotates. The offset between the tubes (eccentricity) changes the flow and heat transfer behavior. The researchers used mathematical equations to model the system, considering the eccentricity as a small change. They found that as the eccentricity increases, both the pressure and temperature increase, which in turn speeds up the flow. The presence of heat also accelerates the transfer of energy in the system. Compared to a setup with concentric tubes, the flow rate is higher in the eccentric configuration. These findings could be useful in designing systems that rely on heat transfer and fluid flow, like heat exchangers.
