Andretti Approved by FIA but not F1?
It is finally happening. Andretti along with Cadillac in a shock announcement have requested to the FIA to JOIN F1. They have finally overcome the final hurdle that the likes of Toto Wolff of Mercedes and Christian Horner of Red Bull have been putting in their way. They have support from an automotive manufacturer in the form of Cadillac which no one expected. It is still unclear when they plan to enter the sport, my guess currently is they will be aiming to enter the sport in 2026 with the new power unit regulations and will be powered by the Renault power unit with Cadillac being just a sponsor in the same way that Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo are just sponsors for their teams.
Michael Andretti and Mario Andretti are confident that their bid will be successful and are in a position where they will be building a new facility for the sport as well as being able to pay the ridiculously expensive $200 million entry fee. This entry fee means that they can prove that they are able to afford F1.
This news is still breaking and more information is yet to unfold. This information will give much more of an insight into what to expect with the relationship between Cadillac and Andretti.
