Andrew Ambrose - Justice a la Mode (PC-88 YM2608 Original Song)
I've been meaning to do a full-fledged project with the YM2608/OPNA, the amazing FM chip mainly associated with NEC's PC-88 and PC-98 computer series, and I finally decided to make my move. I thought it'd be cool to try doing something akin to a Mega Man game, albeit with a more unique touch; I basically decided to take influence from Yuzo Koshiro's music from Ys and The Scheme and Takushi Hiyamuta's music from Geo Storm and Metal Slug. I even used FM instruments from The Scheme and the Sharp X68000 version of Bosconian and instrument samples from Metal Slug (though I ended up using a distorted guitar sample from Fatal Fury). One cool thing I managed to figure out while making this song was that you can change the volume of an FM instrument by changing the Total Level (TL) of the carrier operators (in Furnace's FM instrument editor, the operators represented by blue dots in the algorithm diagram). This proved to be extremely handy in making sure I knew exactly how loud I wanted each piece of the song to be. Not to mention, this was my first time writing a solo (more specifically an organ solo), and I really like how it turned out. I'm not good enough at playing piano to play it myself in real time, but I'd say I know my stuff enough to plot one out. I really dig how well this song turned out, and I hope you all feel the same way. Please let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy Justice a la Mode (I knew that ice cream picture I took 7 years back would come in handy ;D)! \n\nHere are the downloads for this song: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lNJ-CcHgibVzXVszXbz7K5DwSV1axCnw?usp=sharing \n\nComposed by: Andrew Ambrose \n\n\n\nPatreon Shout-outs: \nAustin Kaiser \nHolly \nAndyana \nEric M Ambrose \nKerokoid \n\nBe sure to share this song if you enjoyed it, and consider supporting me on Patreon (100% optional): https://www.patreon.com/AndrewAmbrose
