Animator Proves A Drill Can Be A Powerful Animation Tool
This squid may never stop swimming thanks to this tool. Federico Tobon plays his artwork with a drill. He starts by hand-drawing a 24-frame animation and he said it felt like drawing the same thing over and over again.
Tobon suggests using Flipbookit because it can turn your animation into a printable flipbook. He taped bicycle tire wire to card stock and glued the frames on. Tobon's final project is a flip box of a squid powered by a crank. Earlier versions of these movie boxes were called mutoscopes. The drill was the easiest thing to test out his animation. Who knew a drill could be an animation tool?
