Another one of Steve Jobs' "fits of delusion"?
22Just about a year after introducing the iPod Mini Jobs would introduce the iPod Shuffle which was Apple’s attempt to dominate the lower end of the MP3 Market. By 2006 close to 75% of MP3 players sold in the US were made by Apple and in January of that year the iTunes Store record its 1 billionth track sold.
There was a second Generation of the iPod Mini released in 2005. This generation didn’t change much EXCEPT it improved battery life increasing it to around 14 hours from 8 hours. It also made the cosmetic change of matching the symbols and letters on the click wheel to the color of the case. They also dropped gold as an option making that color one of the rarest on the market today.
