The Antonov An-225 Mriya is the world's larger aircraft currently in flight. While other aircraft over the years (such as the Spruce Goose) have been larger, this is the largest in regular use and also the heaviest. It's also the most well known in the aviation industry.
Serving as primarily a cargo plane and initially developed for transporting the Buran spaceplane, it's a sold piece of Russian muscle.
This model, originally developed by Thomas Ruth with many changes over the years by a few different flight sim developers including Douglas Trapp and William Luxton is possibly the best freeware An-225 you can find.
The model features a fully working nose cargo bay door (with cargo inside), a fully working 3D VC (virtual cockpit) along with smoke effects on all six engines.
Also included is a complete custom sound pack along with an additional 11 (albeit fictional) liveries. The real-world aircraft only ever had one livery (International Cargo Transporter).
This package has also been tested, developed to be compatible with and confirmed working in the latest Prepar3D v5.
The file is released as freeware which means it is free to download and use.
This video was created in P3Dv4 (v4.5) but is also compatible with v5.
Compatible with all versions of FSX including the Steam Edition and compatible with all versions of Prepar3D including v4 and v5. Tested (and confirmed) in v4.5 and v5.
