NOTE: This build got even better with Update 7. Now you don't need to do it with fire - any relic weapon will do as all have a skillbar ability. Here's a Bleeding option: https://youtu.be/DP10NZEbOtc For fire/poison just get burn/poison oriented gear for synergy instead of bleed and you'll be okay.
This is the second Build Video I'm making for Torchlight Frontiers. There are 6-7 total more planned for the various classes. The video consists of 3 parts - Skills Choices, Gear Choices, and a gameplay demo:
- Part 1 - Skill Choices: 01:00
- Part 2 - Gear Choices: 4:12
- Part 3 - Build Gameplay: 11:12

Core skills (lvls 12/12):
* Blasting Charge - AoE dmg + de-buff that is a source of extra dmg boost for you and your party
* Pound - good AoE damage and amazing stun chance
* Hammer Spin - decent AoE damage, amazing knockback/escape and a fantastic movement speed buff. Does not use endurance, can store up to 2 charges.
* Ghost Train - amazing AoE damage and fantastic knockback that can be used to pin enemies to a wall/other environment. The skill also has a long lifespan allowing it to reach enemies that are pretty far away from us.
* Sword Smash - A relic weapon skill. Decent AoE (linear) damage + burn for 6 seconds. Does not use endurance and can be good 'filler' for when out of endurance and/or Hammer Spin charges.

Suggested lvl 12 passive-only skill:
* Flying Picks - Decent ranged skill that shoots piercing projectiles in a straight line. Gives a passive endurance regen synergy bonus.

Either save the extra remaining skill points (for future skills in Lineage) or spend them in the Conductor tree to allow you to switch between builds. If you spend them I'd suggest Build Train + Shotgonne Car + Flamethrower Car + leftovers in Mortar Car and 0 pts in Shield Car.

With the new skills system comes the introduction of leveling up skills (before we could only lvlup passives). Each level gives a bonus to the skill and additional bonus that is a synergy. Synergy bonuses modify/boost other skills or skill paths. The combination of leveling up skills and synergy bonuses opens up the theory crafting a bit and allows for experimentation with different builds.
