A video walkthrough for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney for the Nintendo DS. Episode 3: Turnabout Serenade. Part 17 of 25.
In this part, Machi testifies that he is not the murderer, because he does not know English. Apollo uses his powers of perception to show that Machi knows at least ONE English word, namely, "English". Apollo then shows that Machi couldn't have learned about the song lyrics, unless he knows English.
Lamiroir lies and covers for Machi, saying that she translated the song lyrics for him. Apollo perceives at this statement, and he gets her to admit that she is lying. Machi confesses he knows some English, although he is not fluent. However, Machi refuses to testify about anything.
There is a brief recess, where Apollo talks to Machi. He says he was inside the crime scene, when Ema and Apollo entered, and he escaped through the vent. However, the victim was long dead at that time. So...is he saying the victim was killed much earlier than we thought he was?
Court resumes, and Machi still refuses to testify. Apollo decides to try something else: investigating the fact that Lamiroir was attacked yesterday. Most likely, her attacker was the real killer, trying to stop her from testifying. Therefore, Apollo requests that Lamiroir testify again.
