Welcome to Episode 3 of Retro Review. Retro Review is the section of the channel where retro video games per request, popularity, on sale or general interest are reviewed with a short playthrough.

The game reviewed in this video is Arcania: The Complete Tale or Arcania: Gothic 4/A Gothic Tale (Fall of Setarrif DLC included).

I will be playing the PS3 variant for this review. The game is available for download on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store as well as a hard copy disc for all compatible systems. Windows and MAC OS X.

Arcania: The Complete Tale is a third-person role-playing game (RPG) with the standard RPG elements of close quarters, ranged and magic combat abilities. Arcania falls within the Gothic series universe and sees the Southern Islands plagued by war. This war inevitably reaches Feshyr (your home) in the Southern Seas and essentially upends your entire idyllic and simple existence . . . No more beach house, no more shepherding and tending to your garden . . . Nope, time to go play hero. Your motivation is your village torched, fiancée killed and the usual (the story is more vibrant than this description gives credit). Initially you set out vengeful and bloodthirsty, only to realize that the cowardly attack did not just happen on a corrupt king's whim. You soon discover an evil power lies waiting at the threshold of this world, and our hero will need to face this nameless evil. Please enjoy.
