ArcheAge - Greater Howling Abyss full melee boss kills
Greetings, everyone.
Today I present you all with something many players in ArcheAge dislike, when it comes to doing Greater Howling Abyss (GHA) runs: a party full of melee players.
It adds a new layer of difficulty on top of the already hard gear check some of the bosses in GHA are, and it’s really challenging for a healer to keep up with the pressure of having so many melee players with potential risk of taking unnecessary damage anytime.
Obviously, a decent enough melee player can be very useful when running this dungeon, and the purpose of this video is not showing how good melee players can be in dungeons, not at all, but showcasing the fact that this dungeon can be completed with this not so usual party composition which, in this case, consists of a cleric healer, 3 darkrunners (nothing special here, we just did the run with them because they were available as melee players from my guild) and an abolisher tank which, in this case, is me.
As you see in the video, it didn’t go that bad at all, maybe a dead DPS once in a while but that’s no biggie and we managed to kill the bosses anyway in a reasonable time.
Melee players in this game are very good at doing lots of burst damage, and they can chain stun / CC trash mobs like there’s no tomorrow, so next time you’re looking for a GHA group or making one, don’t forget that anything is possible and you don’t really need a perfect “one archer, one magic caster, one melee” DPS setup to succeed :P
