Are there any realistic first person shooter games that you can play?

No not really but there are some things that are close and try to be as realistic without keeping the very boring parts. Now before people start shouting a million miles a second in the chat box but what about xyz game give me a minute some things and you might even hear me mention that game.
Your best option in my opinion is a mod called Project Reality for Battlefield 2. There are usually 2 full 100 player international servers and you can see it in the background here. Each game can last between 30 minutes and go to 3 hours where you’re lucky to get 5 or more kills. I’ve gone rounds defending a base or flag without seeing a single enemy for an entire hour yet we needed a team of 8 people just sitting in the area ready in case someone does show up.

You will be working with your squad making sure you complete tasks give to you by your squad leader or commander. There is no just jumping in a jet or tank and going on your own, you’ll need a whole squad with you. Player kits are also limited so every player isn’t playing the same kit but there are more kits to choose from you’ll rarely play the same one unless you specifically request it.

Unfortunately Battlefield 2 is rarely sold now because the official game servers where shut down so new players aren’t coming in.

ARMA 3 is the newest game that people would call realistic and it’s full of mods. The problem is through the game is not optimized well at all which is nothing new in the series. There are tons of different mods for online gameplay but this really depends on if there are people playing from the region where you live. There is a lot more action in this game then there is in Project Reality and you’re not as reliant on your team in all of the mods I’ve played but it really does help if you use team work. This is probably your best bet if you’re looking for a long term game to play.

Lastly some people will say Battlefield 4… Battlefield now is basically just a Call of Duty team death match now with tanks, boats and planes. You won’t go a minute without seeing a couple of enemies. If you want constant action this is the game you want to be in and the other 2 games player base will probably be happier because they’re a bit more serious about the game.

There are some more similar games coming out like Squad. I’m not to familiar with it since it was only recently announced however it’s said to have some of the developers from Project Reality and is going to be a commercial game. Some different developers from Project Reality also have previously attempted to make a game called Project Reality 2 which I last heard was dead.

Some similar games to look up if you’re interested in infantry only would be Counter Strike: Global Offensive which would be the most popular game on PC and Insurgence but I won’t go into details on them in this video.
