ARK: Survival Evolved - How to Build a House - Large Modern House Design (Speed Build)
238This is a Large Modern House with a Dino pen and workshop, built in the Chalk Hills Ruins on Valguero with Stone foundations, Metal and Greenhouse structures.
I have clip active for this build so it can run through the Old stone walls of the Ruins.
I looked up where this sort of stark, block, modern design originated In the early 1900s an Architect called Walter Gropius was head of a school called the Bauhaus, he devised a curriculum where students would get hands-on experience with materials used in construction and be tutored by some of the best artists, sculptures and designers around at the time.
This would give the student a bed of material and design knowledge before they started a practical architectural degree.
Gropius design philosophy revolved around the function of a building to house industry and technology, he sought to build structures and even everyday items that were functional, accessible and made for use with no elaborate needless design.
Here is a link if you would like to learn more and read his history, he fought in WW1, went on to England and ended up at Harvard in the US, he has been highly influential in the way architecture and design have been taught for the last 100 years.

I didn't have a plan for this build, I put the foundations down around the ruins and went from there. I wanted to build a sloped roof section but not have it built right into the structure so it just looked like a metal house and the garage on the side was a bit of an afterthought.
It was just pure luck that the building was at the right hight to run onto the rock and stay level with the build, so I built the workshop and landing pad up there for the Indy Forge.
