ARK Survival Evolved: Platforms, Hunters/Base/Fort Part 1
2One of the most useful building designs a player can make in ARK Survival Evolved is the platform, which can be made in, or out of the water. My base builds start as a hunters platform, then I continue to add parts, mostly pillars, but I can also use the block foundations to continue the extensions for as long as I desire, depending on various uneven ground restrictions. At some point the build is huge, enclosed with walls, doors, gates, windows, ceiling, and multiple levels to become a fort. There are some limitations and possible problems to be aware of, especially the wild, meat eating dinosaurs the game allows to cheat and attack through the floor, but there are ways to combat that also. In ARK SE the issue is often how to build on uneven ground and this is a really good solution. With ARK2, or ARK Survival Ascended (ASA) promised to be released in a month if there are no more delays, some details could change and restrict how well this building option works. We will have to wait and see.
