Normal mode also known as story mode.
Armored Core 4 was meant to be a breath of fresh air for the series. I would agree that it needed it.

There are quite a few mechanical changes which I won't bother listing here but put simply, there's a heavy emphasis on speed and general mobility.

There are no branching story paths in Armored Core 4. I will be showing every mission since you can do them all in a single playthrough.

This is being emulated via RPCS3. No joke.
It's very close to being perfect but I had to do a full reset of the emulator for every mission to avoid texture issues. This is with write/read color buffers enabled.
There's also a mission that cannot be played with write/read color buffers enabled and you'll see some strange stuff.

Notes
Normal mode Armored Core 4 is (in my opinion) the easiest Armored Core in the series.

I started with the Aaliyah frame.

There are no hidden parts in any mission.

It was nice to fight ACs that weren't blatantly cheating again after slogging through Last Raven.

Desert Wolf: The pilot has some dialogue. Unfortunately, there can be no mercy and so he must die instantly.

The Womb: As much as I would like to blade these things, attempting to blade usually causes you to take a massive amount of damage since it seems like they can instantly counter swing.

Sol Dios: Grenades do splash damage and the splash can hit the weak spot on the bottom side. This avoids the Kojima explosion and dealing with the wonky lock on for the sphere.

Jardin De Chavalier: This mission crashes the emulator if write/read color buffers are enabled. Turning them off causes textures to not load correctly on ACs. You get the moonlight blade for completing this mission.
