Armored Core: Nexus Playthrough (No Commentary)
Armored Core Series: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPO56tlewLYRryyxnGYWHOXf2D1PmFxbC
Please note that this game is being played in software mode and the visual quality is worse than the previous videos I've produced for the Armored Core games as a result.
This Armored Core came on two discs. The first disc, Evolution, contains the story of Nexus and the second disc, Revolution, contains missions from the previous Armored Core games.
This playthrough will only be covering the relatively new Evolution content as there's no reward or story involved with the extra missions and I've played every prior Armored Core.
Nexus introduces a new but optional control scheme that uses both analog sticks and is much more comfortable for those used to playing modern third person shooting games. For me, I stick with the old control scheme because it's what I'm used to. The old control scheme makes it really difficult to use both arms while staying highly mobile, though.
The mission ranking system was dropped which is a good thing in my opinion as the requirements for ranking were too arbitrary. You get "Raven Points" instead for completing missions which don't mean anything.
As usual, it's not possible to complete every mission in a single playthrough. I have no plans on recording the missions I didn't do. There are no in-mission edits and I show all of my part purchases/changes.
Notes
The mission New MT Performance Test rewards a part if you fail it after 3 minutes. I don't do this to save time. The part is a handgun which I would just sell or ignore entirely.
In the mission Attack Navis' Mine, the enemy AC is able to do a massive amount of damage very quickly but he has a limited supply of ammo. Staying close and pelting him with rounds constantly prevents him from detaching his empty weapons and replacing them with his hangar weapons. This AC is a massive counter to the setup I used if you try to keep your distance.
The mission Ambush Crest HQ Force features a horrible looping sound bug that would happen on every single attempt and the third enemy you fight has ear destroying weapons. It's out of my hands.
There are several missions that reward parts based on your ranking with the various factions. It's not possible to get all of these in a single run. The rankings don't affect the story.
There's only the one ending.
