The journey to get to the release of Zack Snyder’s Army Of The Dead has been quite the adventure, with the project itself being a zombie that has been killed and revived many times in it’s production troubles. The project was first conceived by Zack Snyder well before his most recent hits like Justice League, Watchmen and 300. During the filming of his 2004 Dawn Of The Dead, he wondered what the start of the zombie apocalypse might look like and from there the idea began its long road of development.

After being thrown around from Warner Brothers, and Legendary Entertainment the movie was finally picked up in 2019 by Netflix and was quickly filmed before a real life pandemic put a halt on the release of this movie about a pandemic. During the downtime between filming, one of it’s ensemble members Chris D’elia went under various accusations forcing the Snyder’s and Netflix to act quickly and find a viable work around.

Enter Tig Notaro. Notorious for her deadpan humor and gaining recent popularity in the mainstream via her appearance as Denise ‘Jett’ Reno in Star Trek: Discovery, Tig went in for reshoots where the production attempted to erase Chris and seamlessly paint in Tig. The results for the most part are fantastic, but just how was the feat achieved? How many people were responsible for dealing with all the work that went into the replacement?
