*Sequence 12 Memory 1 - A WARM WELCOME*
With Ezio now became an Assassin and the Apple of Eden acquired, Ezio and Mario, along with Machiavelli, takes the apple to Leonardo's workshop. Leonardo examines the Apple keenly and is astonished by it. As soons as Ezio touches the Apple, a dazzling light bursts forth from it, illuminating the surroundings with some unfamiliar and intricate designs. Mario, Ezio, and Machiavelli shield their eyes from the intense glow while Leonardo observes with keen interest. After a moment, Ezio reaches out again and the artifact's radiance gradually dims, bringing the overwhelming light under control. Leonardo emphasizes the importance of safeguarding the artifact, recognizing its potential to unhinge those not strong enough to resist its influence. Ezio acknowledges the relentless pursuit of the Spaniard to reclaim it. Machiavelli swiftly covers the Apple with a bag and passes it to Ezio, urging him to protect it with all the skills they've imparted upon him. Mario suggests taking the artifact to Forlì, noting its fortified walls and the support of their ally who commands it. Ezio inquires about this ally, learning her name is Caterina Sforza. Expressing interest, Ezio anticipates the mission ahead. He then turns to Leonardo, expressing gratitude for their enduring friendship. Mario then extends an invitation to Leonardo, mentioning a grand villa in Tuscany where he should visit.
Upon reaching Forlì, Ezio encounters Caterina. Caterina expresses surprise at Ezio's identity as an Assassin, but they soon engage in casual conversation while strolling through the city. She proudly boasts about Forlì's history and the security of its citadel, where the artifact will be safeguarded. Ezio admires Caterina's leadership as a woman ruling her own city, to which she reveals that it was previously her husband's, whom she had killed. Their conversation is interrupted by news of an attack on the city by the Orsi brothers, whom Caterina had previously hired to assassinate her husband. It becomes clear that the attack is orchestrated by the Spaniard, targeting Riario's map in possession of Caterina. They rush to defend the city, encountering opposition along the way. Upon reaching the city gate, they find the Orsi brothers already inside. Caterina suggests an alternative route through an old tunnel under the western wall. Ezio volunteers to investigate and opens the gate, allowing Caterina and the others to enter.
