In Roma a young man speaks out against current beliefs, the Borgia guards are ordered to kill anyone who has alternative views to the pope. Ezio and his assassins hold off waves of Borgia soldiers and protect Copernico.
Ezio then vows to get him to safety and the assassins clear a path for them. Once in safety Copernico tells Ezio of the scholars that work under him and they are not safe, Ezio promises that he will deliver the letters to them and keep them safe. Copernico tells of a cardinal who will report him to a secretive order, Ezio tracks the situation and finds out about the master of the sacred palace's plans and hunts down the executioners. Ezio returns to Copernico and keeps him informed, he exclaims that he will continue his research and would rather die than stop, Ezio decides to take out the master of the sacred palace who tells him that he is too late and that Copernico will be killed by an assassins shortly, Ezio races to save him and reaches Copernico just in time, he and Brotherhood dispatch them before they get close.
