Roma, Italy 1506, Ezio has returned to the city and tails Patrizio to find the location of the painting Lucrezia gave him to symbolise their love. Ezio arrives at the meeting between Patrizio and a man called Ercole Massimo, Patrizio is killed and the painting taken, Ezio gives chase and his one of his assassins kills the robed disciple and takes the painting.

Ezio makes inquiries to the other paintings and is told a merchant has purchased them and sailing away soon, Ezio makes his way to the docks and finds its Duccio that has the paintings, Ezio beats him and his company down for insulting his sister Claudia. Duccio reveals one painting is on the ship and the other two have been sold to a Cardinal.

Ezio speaks with Claudia who tells him how to gain access to the art exhibition, Ezio makes his way to meet Claudia's girls who will assist him in getting an invitation.
