So! Its been a long long time since I've played an assassins creed game, but the original was always my favourite as it was just incredible when it first came out. Everyone I knew loved it despite some of its flaws. Interesting story, fantastic historical setting with 3 main cities Damascus, Acre and Jerusalem (which is largely why I loved it as I love history). Fun gameplay with free-running and obviously plenty of assassinations.
So today - I have to say the game holds up remarkably well, I really enjoyed going through it again. I will say the repetitiveness of the investigations are a bit of a downside, plus I found the free-running to be good at best, not great. As you often fall randomly or jump to something/on something you didnt intend. But apart from that its still great fun, the combat feels satisfying although a little simplistic. The finishing moves with the dagger/short sword I found particularly enjoyable. So overall, great. Also found out from a mate that Desmond's/Altair's/Ezio's stories wrap up in 4 games, starting with this and ending with Revelations. So I intend to play through those 4 to conclude the story.
Just a note, one or two of the cutscenes after Mission 8 are not included. As I lost an hour and a half of footage due to a corrupted file. When I went back to replay it, the cutscenes weren't included.
