Assassin's Creed IV - mysteriously losing your double swords
16Not sure how, but Edward lost his double swords on one occasion. I was at the part where you first visit Principe and have to sink 5 ships there. It's a pretty glitchy location for sure, but I don't know if losing the swords was related to the area or if this is some esoteric glitch that can happen anywhere.
Basically, I was capturing one of the ships there and had picked up a rifle. All of a sudden I thought to switch to another weapon, just for a change of pace. So I press right on the d-pad, activating sleep darts. Edward sets down the rifle, but now... the active weapon icon is Hidden Blades, while Edward is doing unarmed attacks. What's this discrepancy? Then, when I open the menu, I see that my double swords are gone entirely. The double swords remained gone until I finally went back to a shop (many missions later) and re-equipped them from there.
Of course, since I had edited the raw footage so carelessly, it's pretty much impossible to tell now if the glitch started when I set down the rifle, or if it in fact had started at some earlier point, and you could only see the effects when I set down the rifle. I'd like to figure this one out, though...
In some previous Assassin's Creed-games you could naturally lose your sword during gameplay, albeit rarely. Could this be something similar, and not a glitch? But it wouldn't explain the glitchy effect of unarmed attacks while the blades were active. That's why I'm getting the impression that it's a glitch... and if it's a glitch technique that could be done at will, once mastered, who knows what else you could do with it?
