Assassin's Creed IV - easy way to reach New Bone (Save Warping exploit)
359Personally, for me New Bone was one of the hardest islands in the game to enter because it is situated on hostile territory and always guarded by high level warships. Sure, you could probably sneak around the back to enter the place, but here's an easier, faster way to get in.
Basically, this game has two types of checkpoints - sea and ground checkpoints. Saving and reloading while on your ship or swimming in the ocean never warps you very far because of the pretty frequently dispersed sea area checkpoints. However... if you are swimming and close to land - any type of uncharted territory or even a shoreline will do - the game will instead take you to the nearest land checkpoint, no matter how far it is.
So for example, drop off at the Kingston quick travel spot, sail a little to the west, then swim to the shore, save and reload. Upon reload Edward will find himself from New Bone, even if he had never visited it prior to that.
The same idea works everywhere else in the map. You can skip large parts of sailing by touching ground somewhere and reloading. Just keeps in mind that some of the sea locations can't be warped to, namely...
1, any larger areas that the game has to load a different map for, like main cities or Cape Bonavista.
2, any locations that do not have ground on them, like sunken ships.
3, hostile sea fortresses unfortunately reject you, so no warping inside them without a fight using this exploit.
