Rogue isn't a game that I have previously played, and that's mainly because I felt it was released on the same date as AC: Unity to placate people who could not yet afford a PS4. I still think that - However, this doesn't change the fact that Rogue carries the most compelling narrative of an AC game since maybe Revelations. And this is it's main selling point. Shay is an assassin-turned-templar (yes! You play the other side!), convinced to stray from the order after a catastrophy sees mass casualties. Struggling to see the greater good, he is left for dead after interfering with the Brotherhood's plans. He then rises through the ranks of the Templars, conflicted emotionally on whether he is doing right or wrong. He also has the WORST attempt at an Irish accent I have ever heard... and that's not even the worst voice acting in the game.

The game itself is fun enough, but it suffers from the same old Ubisoft problem of releasing the same game again and again and hoping that nobody will notice. Now, there are usually additions but most of the additions in this game are frustrating more than anything - especially the sneak attack assassins who solve no purpose other than genuine annoyance. The free-running seems more flawed than any previous installment, and is questionable despite being fairly obvious on the jumps you're trying to make. And MY GOD do the modern day intervals suck?! It held my attention more than I thought it would, moreso than Freedom Cry - but a glorified Black Flag DLC it remains. And much the same as Freedom Cry, I score it this highly on the narrative.
