Stage 4-3: Focus
S+ run using Aubergine


Playing Repeater again after so long was a lot of fun, so I thought I'd try Focus as well... and actually ended up beating my previous best Aubergine vs. Focus score! =)

Oh, and for those of you who were wondering... events that occur after you've won a stage (i.e. defeated the final enemy) don't actually count towards your stats/score. So if you pick up a battery after defeating the last enemy... the points you get for picking up the battery won't actually get added to your score. =/ But on the positive side, if you get knocked down after defeating the last enemy... you won't lose any points. =)

Anyway, that's why, when there were only two enemies left, I went for the battery first (instead of heading straight for the final two enemies), even though it made the situation slightly more dangerous... and then, despite the more dangerous situation, why I pushed the attack on the final enemy: I was pretty sure I'd be able to destroy it before taking any damage... even though I was less sure about being able to make it safely through that gap after the final enemy had been destroyed. Making it through that gap would've been a much more triumphant finish, but... ah well. =)
