Run or Die - Daily Run: 2016.Feb.5 (ft. Mr. Rumples!)
Run or Die (PC/Steam)
Version 1.2 (2016 Jan 27)
Daily Run: 2016.Feb.5 (ft. Mr. Rumples)
For those of you who haven't heard of Run or Die, it's basically an "endless runner" sort of game, where you're running through a (semi-randomly generated) city, and in addition to your normal abilities (jump and slide) you have five special abilities (Leap, Dive, Dash, EMP, and Ion Cannon) you can use. In each section of the city, you'll have access to two of those special abilities... the two you'll need to get through the obstacles in that section. =) Your run speed starts out relatively slow, but it definitely gets faster (I think with every section you complete, until you reach maximum speed). IMO the game's a lot of fun. Though of course, depending upon what kinds of games you like, your mileage may vary. Err, no pun intended. ^^;
So anyway...
Run or Die was recently updated, and among the other additions and changes... the Doc and Mr. Rumples are now unlockable as playable characters! So of course, the first thing I did after downloading the Version 1.2 patch was unlock Mr. Rumples. =)
Mr. Rumples is the Doc's pet... or assistant. And he's a cat... or a dog. ^^ And from what I can tell, his story (when you play as him) is basically that he stole a Serum from the evil Scariot Enterprises, and is trying to get it back to the Doc, who will use the serum to help a lot of people... or something like that. ^^
As far as I know, the two new characters play exactly the same as Flow (i.e. no gameplay differences). They just look different. And of course they have their own story dialogue in Endless Mode. =)
So anyway, since I still haven't (at the time of this writing) spotted any Mr. Rumples gameplay videos on youtube, I thought I might as well record and upload at least one run with him, in case anybody wanted to see what he's like. So here's the 05-Feb-2016 Daily Run, featuring Mr. Rumples... hope you enjoy!
Oh, and if anybody was curious, yes, the game does have music. I actually like the music in this game, but while learning how to play, I found that I played slightly better with the music turned off (probably because of how important the rhythm and timing of your actions can sometimes be in avoiding obstacles... especially later on, when your run speed is faster!)... and just got used to playing without it. ^^;
