Assault Android Cactus: Holly vs. (VPC4) Daily Drive: 24-Dec-2022 (Offline, non-Steam) (Full Chain)
Assault Android Cactus+ (PC(W,M,L)/Steam)
Version 190430s (2019 Apr 30)
Daily Drive: Saturday, December 24, 2022
(Offline, non-Steam)
Holly run: 1P (Full Chain!)
& 4P Virtual Player Count
So... for those of you who don't already know, AAC's Daily Drive does actually support Virtual Player Count (as well as all other EX Options, I think)... but only if you run the game directly, and not via Steam (i.e. find the game directory and run the "cactus" executable yourself... if you run the game via Steam, VPC will be disabled for the Dailies, even if Steam is in Offline Mode)! =)
----------
[A little extra info for anybody interested]
[Location note: If you don't know where the game directory is, you should be able to find it by right-clicking the game in Steam, selecting "Properties" then "Local Files" then "Browse"]
[Save file note: Running the game directly uses a different Save File location, so if you want to use your Steam AAC save file (which you should be able to find at "Steam/userdata/(user#)/250110/remote" (or a similar location, depending on your OS or other factors)), just copy that save file (game0a.sav) into the "cactus_Data" subdirectory in your game directory]
[Gameplay note: Because you're not running the game through Steam, the game will look at your OS for date and time info... so you can actually choose any day you want simply by changing your OS's date and time! Also, the game will allow you to play the Dailies as many times as you want, instead of just once (the Offline Dailies use a different set of seeds, though, so they will be different from the Online Dailies)]

So... it'd been a while since I'd played a VPC4 Daily... and with the Winter Holidays coming up, I started thinking... it might be fun to record a Holly run. =)
So I loaded up the Christmas Eve Daily, and started recording Full Chain (S+) attempts (i.e. restart if chain breaks!). My early impressions were that it kind of seemed like every single Layer had either loose mines or mine canisters... or both. ^^; I thought it might be kind of amusing if all 10 Layers ended up having mines... but if anybody's curious, it turns out only(!) 7 of the 10 Layers had mines in them. =)
Anyway... for some reason, Layer 4 gave Holly, uh, some troubles... ^^; But after two of her runs ended on L4, I made some minor strategy adjustments I was hoping would help...
And apparently they did... the third time Holly made it to L4... this run happened! ^_^
So, here it is... my first ever Holly vs. VPC4 Daily Drive Full Chain win... hope you enjoy!
Some notes and possible points of interest:
0:01 1P: VPC4 Daily Drive, 24-Dec-2022

2:43 Layer 5
- Whew, first time past Layer 4...!
3:59 1000-chain ("I can do this!") ^_^
7:20 Layer 10
- Interestingly, there are only 2 enemy types in this Layer... but there are a LOT of each. ^^;
8:42 Initial chain ends (2230) due to win.
8:44 Yay, my first ever Holly vs. VPC4 Daily Drive Full Chain win! ^_^
