Assault Android Cactus: (Mega Assault) Cactus vs. (VPC4) Convection S+
Assault Android Cactus (PC/Steam)
Version 151007b (2015 Oct 07)
Stage 5-3: Convection
4P Virtual Player Count + Mega Weapons
S+ run using Cactus
So I decided to take a little break from Liquorice by taking a closer look at another of the new additions to the game: Mega Weapons! And what better place to test out what they're capable of than in a frenetic "sink or swim" environment? So I decided to try them out on VPC4 Convection, figuring that if there were any significant weaknesses (or strengths) to using the Mega Weapons, VPC4 Convection would probably reveal them fairly quickly. =)
Based on what I've seen so far... it looks like the Witch Beam team did a pretty good job of balancing the Mega Weapons. Of course, since the Mega Weapons do replace your character's normal Secondary weapon... and since each character's playstyle was balanced according to that specific Primary+Secondary combination... using a Mega Weapon means you're going to have to play your character differently (sometimes quite differently!) than normal.
Cactus' Mega Assault... is about what you'd expect, given what it looks like. =) The thing that surprised me a bit about the Mega Assault weapon was that it actually lasts a really long time! So it might not be as flashy as Starch's Mega Laser (which does damage at a faster rate, but lasts a much shorter time, doing a lot less total damage)... but I actually found the Mega Assault to be more versatile, both offensively and defensively, due to its longer usage time and larger total damage. =)
Anyway, here's my first ever Mega Weapon Cactus vs. VPC4 Convection S+... hope you enjoy!
